With over 40 year’s experience in the Office Supplies Industry, North East Stationery a trading division of Emerge (NE) LTD have been supplying over 65,000 stationery, interior, care and hospitality related products, to our North East and nationwide clients.

Since 2011 we have been working with the award winning Carbon Smart, a certified organisation, to monitor the impact our business has on the environment.

For 2017 our carbon footprint was measured at 11.3 tonnes. We’re proud to have been awarded a Silver level certification that recognises we are reducing our environmental impact.

Our So Go Eco programme has identified our use of Fuel, Electric and Waste as three key areas. To help us reduce this figure by 5 % by the end of 2018.

Moving forward, Emerge (NE) Ltd should look to ensure that its carbon footprint continues to decrease year on year. The emissions associated with Emerge’s fleet represent over 80% of its carbon footprint and are a key area to target. An investment in hybrid or electric vehicles would significantly reduce the businesses carbon footprint. Alternatively North East may wish to investigate route planning and fuel efficient driver training to ensure that fuel used by the vehicle fleet is kept to a minimum. By demonstrating exceptional actions such as these, North East can demonstrate their commitment to sustainability to customers and strive to achieve Carbon Smart Gold Certification in 2018.
